Larry, would you ever consider putting Marching To Zion online?

I know several people I would like to read it, but for whatever reason they aren't willing to spend the time and/or money acquiring a copy of it. Having it online would also allow it to appear in google search results, which would increase overall public awareness of GC's history.

I would love to have MTZ posted on-line. A problem is that I originally prepared it in Word Perfect, but I no longer have WP on my home computer, and because of the number of graphics in the book only parts of it come up in Word for Windows. I plan to try to prepare a Word version, but it will take a bit of time.  Sad

If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I read the book fairly thoroughly.   I could see there was a genuine attempt at academic accuracy.

However, the bias of the writer is also obvious.  It is important to remember that the book of course is a monologue, not a dialogue.

After a good thorough look, my reaction was the Earlier errors report satisfied me.  But then again I know the some of the authors like Bovenmeyer.  These are some humble God loving men.

My thought was take the apology.  I remember God had me apologize to someone for a minor infraction of mine, when the grossly wounded a family member of mine.  God just took me to the cross.

Take it to the cross guys, come one.   These men are not in a cult or some other acronymn.

Mccotter has been out of the association since when, 85?  I think he made some serious errors and mistakes.  Do not associate him with gcac of today.   That does not work.

Time to move on men and women.

But the problem comes when the same problems are happening today.  Most of us who post here have experienced similar or the same things in the past 5 years if not this year.  Most true apologies come with repentance and a turning from the behaviors.  There HAS NOT in many places been anything close to that.  This is why the MTZ papers, accusations, and web site are here.  What are we left to do other then look for something to do to correct a brother or in this case an organization so that they might be won form their sin.

I'm not sure I like your tone, Massman.  "Time to move on" isn't the kind of statement that improves 'dialogue'.  Assume good faith.  Assume that each of us is attempting to move on and resolve past hurts in the best ways we know how.  If you can't think better of us, you can always express your dissatisfaction with our collective ability to move on to your fellow congregation members.  This however is a special thread created by former members of Great Commission in order to share and request information with researcher Larry Pile, not a place to voice criticisms of his work.  There is a place for that discussion, and it is called "The Moribund Equine".  But beyond criticism of Mr. Pile, it's important that you refrain from administering unsolicited (and arguably condescending) counsel, since the counsel of Great Commission itself is one the main ongoing criticisms that exist on this board.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Jehu.

Tone is a very hard thing to determine on a forum.
I wonder if you are reading way into what I said.
I think over a nice cup of coffee you could see my eyes and perhaps have a better understanding of my heart.  And I am sure I would have a better understanding of your heart as well.

I apologize if I came off condescending.  I really didn't and don't mean to.
My opinion may be strong.   But it is just that, my opinion.

If it comes off as that abrasive to others, please pull it off, no problem.

Actually I dialogued with Larry a few years back.  While I have never met him, I liked his tone in our emails for the most part.  I am sure you would agree that some seem to be having a harder time than others from moving on.  That too takes relationship with God and time.

If you ever are in Dubuque I will treat you to some serious Italian coffee at a place called One Mean Bean.  (They embarress Starbucks!)

Peace and love,
Brian
