Sometimes I get the feeling that marriages in GCx were not merely men finding their 'leading' from a god as to who to marry, but more like implanted suggestions by people in leadership (or elders) as to who would make the best couples, etc, in a way to arrange things to their liking... and I have seen at least a couple of situations in which that would be the case. Thoughts?

When I had first left the church a few years ago, There were whispers about at least one one of the girls having not wanting to date the guy who had asked to court her, but had done so anyways (and gotten married) because her GCM parents told her they thought it was a good match.  I really don't believe that is how it's supposed to work within Christianity.  God is able to speak to us directly and not only through the pastors.  GCM thinks God only speaks his will through the Pastors or leaders of the church.  I guess that makes the church a bit easier to control...
