After I left GC, I heard from a friend still there that adults (college grads) in the singles' group played "duck-duck-goose" on one occasion. I've never played that children's game- which it what it is- but I'm glad not to have been a part of that. When I left that group and the Church, I just wanted to meet a woman to have a relationship with and to marry... goals that seemed so far away from too many people in that group. And to my knowledge, some of those people are still not married to this day... almost 20 years later. Of course, nothing says you have to marry but I really felt like to get to where I wanted to be, I needed to get away from that place and those people.
On another occasion (not a GCM thing) I was in another singles' group and spent one Christmas Day with a few singles who didn't have families to go to for the holiday. Anyway, one woman brought a birthday cake she made for Jesus and had us sing "Happy Birthday, Jesus" and blow out the candles.
I love Jesus but I have to say, I'm not really interested in doing things like that. To me, they seem childish and silly.
