There is a bit of irony in all this.  In those days, when I began comparing the doctrines of GCI to the biblical texts, the only outlet I found for disseminating the results of my study was the one outlet they provided: open ministry.  The more I shared the Word, the more I was branded “unteachable.”

Perhaps no one else may think it so funny as I, but they wanted me silent, yet gave me the public platform to speak.  The more I studied Scripture, the more they called me unteachable.  Today, I find that simply humorous.

Praise God for His gracious handling of us all.

Ooooh

How about

lazy
effeminate (for men who weren't "violent" "wild" or "zealous" enough)
Selfishly thinking about themselves (when they were too shy to do things like door to door witnessing)
immature

Has anyone been told

You are seeking your own desire  (if you don't feel led to do something that is church ordained)

Or

He who separates himself seeks his own desire

that verse was thrown out there alot anytime you didn't want to come to a meeting or do something the elders wanted to do.

Talk about using scripture to manipulate and control people!! Now I see it was non-stop

I was given that whoever loses his life will gain it, especially after sharing a poem with those close friends.  One friend miles away emailed me and told me I was being selfish just like the rest of my family.

selfish?   The person who is calling someone else selfish is being selfish as well.

It is one of the least recognized human attributes.   We are ALL selfish but since it is undesirable to be selfish, we do not admit it.
