Please help me find out more about Bill Mccotter, Jim's brother. I am in N. Colorado and he is in the Springs with a fellowship and I met him and I have not had this spine tingling since scientology and mormonism.

Sorry, I know nothing of Bill at all.  Perhaps some other forum user knows first hand about his doctrine and theology and would be willing to comment?

What about the encounter did you find disquieting (doctrine, theology, church philosophy, other)?

I was involved in scientology for a few years and the mind games/control used there were the same type that i've seen him do to others. he is jim's brother.

I have known Bill McCotter for many years. He is a godly man with a heart for things of the Lord.
I don't agree with all his beliefs, but he is not manipulative like his brother was (is?) He left GCI (before it was GCI) in the early 70s because he didn't believe in all that was going on, including manipulation.
He is an elder of a Plymouth Brethren assembly in the Springs.

is that a close/truth needed/exclusive brethren? I know he is an elder there.

I always seem to shy away when someone says he is a Godly man about someone.

I believe the assembly is open - at least we broke bread there many years ago. Our neighbor is from a "closed" assembly and we wouldn't be allowed to break bread with them.

What do you mean that you shy away from someone who says someone is godly?
I felt I was correcting misinformation about Bill using mind games/control. I know him and have never seen him do this. I'm just giving a different testimony of my experience with Bill. We have known him for more than 40 years. I may know him better than you and certainly haven't had your experience. I'd hate to see him unjustly, publicly back-bitten.

Do you know him well? What evidence do you have of these mind games? Is it from personal experience or from others?
