If an opensource bulletin board is officially abandoned, should its remaining administrators be obligated to purge any posts that contain unverified, potentially defamatory claimsespecially when those claims have already ruined lives? Or does the ethos of free, unmoderated speech demand that the forum remain a neutral archive, regardless of the damage caused? What legal or ethical responsibilities survive the softwares decommissioning?
