I am attempting to understand the methods the Great Commission uses to brainwash their victims into relinquishing control of their lives and money to them.  I found the following information:

From the New Life Church website (GC church near Cedar Rapids, Iowa):

Pastoral Authority:

We believe that a God-ordained local church exists where God-ordained leadership exists. We believe that Christians are not fully under the authority of Christ unless they are also under the loving authority of pastor/elders. Christians do not have the freedom to choose complete independence from pastoral authority.

The members of New Life have the responsibilities of protecting the pastors from divisive slander and false accusations.

Men are selected to become pastors at New Life by the current pastors, with approval from the church members. Our desire is that pastors be recognized from within our own congregation (rather than being hired from other locations).

SO…let me get this straight. Only those who “submit” to the current GCx pastor’s authority will be selected as future pastors.  Pastors in the GCx have been and will continue to be cultivated from within the “flock” to insure that intelligent people who actually understand the intent of Jesus’s teachings will not become pastors in their controlling religious group.  These guys believe that only men are intelligent enough to be leaders in their cult.

The members of the "flock" have a responsiblity to report anything that may make others see the truth in their scheme.  They use guilt to make the members of their flock report any potential insurrection.  The pastor tells his flock that the bible says that we have to blindly follow our pastors.  the pastor says we have to report any uinsurrection.  These poor souls actually believe they have to tell on each other or they will go to hell.

The “flock” consists of members of a demographic group who have been cleverly chosen. These members of the “flock” are mostly college age kids. These kids have been recruited when they are alone and away from their families, friends and others who had been their support group. They lure them in at a time in their lives that they are most vulnerable and feeling a little bit lonely. They are easy prey and are the one group who is most easily sucked into the web.

By choosing pastors from a group of people who have been brainwashed is brilliant (if you want to call it that).  It is a great marketing strategy that has made a lot of money for a lot of people who get into this pyramid scheme early enough.

Can you see anything wrong with this?

I'm genuinely surprised that they are so upfront with their dysfunctional church structure.  Wow.  You aren't fully under Christ if you aren't under a pastor.
