Just thought it would be worth re-opening or at least reminding everyone of this thread (which was originally posted in 2009): http://forum.gcmwarning.com/general-discussion/gcm-'partners'-as-posted-on-the-wikipedia-article.

It is February 2015 and GCM still lists Oxford University, Wycliffe Hall as an official partner. You can see it on their website: http://www.gcmweb.org/who/Partners.aspx. Why doesn't GCM list, say, Moody Bible Institute as a partner, instead of Oxford (I can name at least one GCM staffer who studied at Moody, for example)?

Anyone been to an official GCM/Oxford training recently or even in the past 5 years? If so, what are the dates, times, places? If not, don't you think GCM should remove it?

P.S. Does Kairos LA still give people play-dough to play with on Sunday morning during Sermons!? Inquiring minds want to know!  Tongue

I have always assumed they used the term "partner" loosely. I never did hear back from Oxford. Anyone else try?

At the time, Oxford did not list GCM as a partner. GCM listed Oxford as a partner.

I always thought they played fast and loose with the term partner.

For example, I volunteer on occasion for Samaritan's Purse. If I were trying to make myself look more important and more mainstream, I might say, "I partner with Samaritan's Purse". Samaritan's Purse would say, "Who is this Linda person? We've never heard of her."

A partnership implies a mutual relationship. It looks like their "out" would be that these organizations are under the category of "Partners and Friends". Clearly, these groups are there to add credibility to an organization that has had a history of being on cult watch lists.
