So, I am actually really proud of myself today, I wore a bikini for the first time.... I have ways loved my curves and never really struggled with body issues, but what I did struggle with was constant modesty shaming. Tank tops were a no-no, dresses had to have tshirts under them, v necks were out of the question. Standard GC seimwear included shorts and a Tshirt, some times with the sleeves rolled up if we wanted to be trendy. I was so scared for so many years to even wear just a standard tankini swimsuit because I didn't want to offend anyone, so finally, about 6 months after leaving the movement, I bought a bikini. It's pretty tame by the worlds standards, high waisted bottoms and long fringe cover most of my midriff, but for me it's like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I love it, I am proud of how I look in it, and it's so comfortable!! It's a brand new day!
