Rebel in a Good Way,

Thank you for your response. I accept your apology. Although, I don't consider your opinion (systematic vs. individualistic) to be wrong or sinful towards me, rather it is a difference in perspective. I am going to take some time to read and think about the things you posted and will write a more thoughtful response soon. I just wanted to respond quickly to say 'thank you'. I really do appreciate the time you and others are taking to even engage in conversation with me.

Because Scout's allegations of sexual abuse towards Mark Darling have been brought up in this thread, it seems relevant to include Jeromy's response:

(I moved this conversation to this thread as it is not directly applicable to "The Reckoning")

Huldah,

I agree. We have different perspectives. However, I would state that my viewpoint is "say, mend, remember and avoid."
I disagree with your view that people on this forum are not lumping things together. I do not believe all are doing this, but certainly some do. I have watched several individuals jump into a situations and form opinions and even offer "evidence" about situations they were never a part of nor know anything about. This is simply not fair given the anonymity of this site. Example: I know one person who posts on here. I know the person quite well and I was there for the situations they post about. What they post is completely false or a gross exaggeration of what actually occurred. What would you suggest I do in this case? Call them out? Blow their anonymity and mine? Or would I just be viewed as defensive? I'm serious, what can a current GCx member do if false information is posted here?

Also, at what point does this forum move from discussion to action? Personally, I can see why leaders in GCx haven't gotten more involved. It is extremely hard to post on here without having it dissected and pulled a part by some. I have taken hours to carefully draft my posts hoping that they may be read or interpreted correctly and it is tiring. I have a lot of hope, but I know I cannot continue to spend as much time as I have in the past several days on here. Should I just give up?

In addition to the dialogue I have had in this thread, I have had a few extremely kind and encouraging conversations via private messages. It seems some people here really do want to have a dialogue and essentially partner to foster change. I cycle back to the very first thing I posted here:"what would you like current members to do? Do you believe change can be made? Do you believe that there are good, well-intentioned people within GCx whose hearts are breaking over these things, but want to stay to foster change?"

Peace, I was actually planning to take a day off from posting, so I'll probably answer you some time this weekend. In the meantime, I've sent you a PM.

One quick thought, though: I fully support everyone's right to anonymity, in part because it's a potential safety issue. There are people who may be lurking here or perhaps even participating who may not be stable. The exception is those who are in leadership positions, because the nature of the job itself makes them public figures. Anyone who holds a leadership position who posts on this forum is, in my opinion, obligated to state as much.
