Yesterday I was driving home from a friend's home and was listening to Jim Christensen on a radio program. He used to direct a national radio program and spoke at Walnut Creek Church, Des Moines when I was a student and I believe has spoken there since then. I was told that he had been replaced on his national show by a GC pastor. Also, at the end of the program, the announcer said that "this is a ministry of Walnut Creek."

What I'm wondering is this: Walnut Creek Church, Des Moines has a lot of outside speakers and musicians come through. Are they using them to throw people off the scent that they are a marginal group? Do these outside groups or individuals know that Walnut Creek Church, Des Moines doesn't have the best reputation in town?

A leader in the first church I visited after I left made a comment that led me to believe that he had an altercation with the leadership in Walnut Creek Church, Des Moines. Does anyone have insight on this?

BTW - I'm aware that I don't have to refer to them as Walnut Creek Church, Des Moines every time. However, a friend of mine with a blog said that if you use terms frequently in posts, they will turn up in search engines.
