What is the deal with TPM and if it's so great, why is it a secret? If you have this great resource for people why isn't it advertised in the bulletin, why is it not general knowledge of the congregation? At our location in MN even the people involved with the ministry were not very open about it and also were not allowed to discuss it much because it may be too much or a turnoff for new believers.

To me it's alarming that only certain members of the church are allowed in on this ministry or even know it exists. We are long time attenders and only found out about TPM by accident.

I was offered theopostic prayer counseling at candlewood, I didn't take it. If you really read about it, you can see it's pretty weird and creepy! I think they don't advertise it for fear of people seeing it as the kind of weird cultish thing it is!!

I just did a very shallow search on this, and found many misspellings on their site.  It's hard to take it seriously when I see that.

Our GC church, Evergreen, was involved in this. Red flags went up when I heard about it. But they kept it on the down low. I know a few pastor's families who were involved and got others involved. Not surprising because of their theological ignorance. Healing of the memories is a phrase that describes this and Elijah House is a group that is similar. False memories stories abound. Lives have been destroyed. A relative who is a missionary in Japan and has worked in getting people out of cults for over 30 years, said one of the best books he has read on the subject is "Second Thoughts". Stay away from Theophostics/"spirit" guided prayer/Elijah House.

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
