6/8 of us in the room were new to "lifegroup", and we all took turns sharing our basic life story.  mine was very bitter and jaded, and i remember telling the guys "hey, i think God is great, but f*** christians.  seriously, screw them..." and all the guys were like "hey man, if that's where you're coming from, that's cool.  no judgements here".  for one of the first time in my life up to that point i felt accepted for who i really was, because i had really put everything on the line.

many of the guys in the room that day are still my best friends.

That's really cool! Yeah, I remember straight up arguing with two of my friends freshman year about some stuff I believed that they didn't (I was a brand new Christian at the time) and they were real patient with me and explained their Biblical rationale for their viewpoints.
