Hi, all! I'm new to this forum. I'm seeing a lot of old threads. Are people still involved with this forum? I left GCM many years ago. I am NOT looking to get back into GCM! I had some wonderful experiences and some not so wonderful experiences. I had more positive experiences than bad ones. But I'm thankful not to be in that anymore. All that said, I've completely lost track of old GCM friends. Is there a good way to find old friends? I'd love to reconnect with a few of them and see what God has been up to in their lives. I'm hoping that several of them have found freedom. I'd love to know who has left (and even, sadly, who has not). Anyone have any tips?

Thank you, and God bless you!

Welcome Former GCMer!

Just as many pages are being viewed these days as they were years ago with the exception of an explosive period where the number of views tripled surrounding the sexual harassment claims about a particular GCx leader from one brave victim. (Then other victims came forward to report.) However, not as many are writing here.

You picked on a good thread to talk specifically about good memories you have. If you include details of when and where, you may find someone else who was there to chime in.  You can also post any length of introduction of yourself and the approximate dates and region of GCx you attended on “Hellos and Testimonies” without giving your name. Others registered here can privately message you to connect with you and possibly reveal their identity.

People are viewing an average of about 200,000 pages a month. So a good number of people still see the posts. Others may have other suggestions.

Former GCMer Also,

Janet

I'm excited to report that I looked up our old pastor, found him on Facebook and there found a dear, old sister! (I haven't contacted our former pastor as of yet. It appears he's still entrenched in the organization.) I'd love to connect with others!

Hi, Fomer GCMer. I'm glad you were able to reconnect with an old friend! So many of us here use pseudonyms that it's usually easier to just look people up by their real names on Facebook. Also, there are some former GCMers who feel the same way many of the members here feel, yet have an aversion to posting their experiences in a public forum, even if they're not using their real names. So Facebook does seem like the best tool for finding people.

Thank you for the kind replies! I hope to reconnect with some dear, old GCMers at some point. So thankful for the dear sister I found on FB! Not looking to go back to GCM. Nope! But some things about GCM were very cool!
