I gave Evergreen (Hometown church)  10 plus years of my commitment.  I was in mostly in the Bloomington location.  I stayed through most of the Mark Darling investigation and ultimate ejection.  I had a mixed experience.  I think the key for me was that I was careful to not get too close to pastoral leadership.  I had a healthy distance and focused on connecting with mainly other guys who were unstaffed and had enough integrity.  I do remember being turned off by Mark Darling's "inspirational" talk to get involved with the Urban Refuge and just thought it was a call to come with us and get burned out doing too much.  This no way reflects its current leader Andy Gray.  I am mainly checking out the forum lately as I observe another change in the national GCM/GCC organization as they prepare to dissolve and run as smaller regions somehow.  Its almost like Ma Bell being splintered off to smaller sized companies to better operate.  Could GCM churches still grow?  only if they really learn from their past history.

I know you have posted here several times, so this is a belated WELCOME, WoodBern82.

Good for others to learn of your honest experience.
