Trying to put the pieces back together. I grew up in the GCx churches. Trying to understand the difference between what I remember compared to what I now know.

Hello, KnockKnock, and welcome to the forum.

There are only three or four of us left who post with any frequency. And now that the forum gets so much spam, the few remaining regulars, unfortunately, no longer check in here quite as often as we used to.

Nonetheless, you're welcome to share your story if you wish, or ask any questions you might have for your fellow survivors, or just feel free to browse the mountains and mountains of testimony from former members. I hope this forum can be of some use to you, in spite of its declining participation and bot infestations.

Welcome, KnockKnock. Glad you found the forum. I still wade through the spam occasionally. Feel free to share your story or ask questions. I left 15 years ago, and still feel the effects. This page helped me immensely.

Yes, someone needs to take the administration of this forum over, otherwise, it will disappear in the UNIX forms without an administration. I'm not sure if it needs to be kept alive. It's not like GCM exists anymore. It's getting to be very old.

I am grateful this forum exists and thankful that Puff has been faithful in keeping it up all these years. GCC hurt a lot of people over the years and this forum offers them a place to process and realize they are not alone. The hurt and confusion lingers even though the organization no longer exists in its original form.

Welcome, KnockKnock.

I just noticed that Puff has cleaned out the spam. Thank you, Puff!

I agree with you, Linda, that this forum has been extremely valuable to those who've been hurt by the movement. My heart goes out to everyone who is questioning their own sanity and God's goodness after being in an overly controlling church. May He lead them to healing and reassure them of His love.

I'm just checking in and saw your post. This is still a worthwhile forum since the effects of some of GCX teachings/practices continue down through the generations. Feel free to ask your questions and/or tell your story.
