After a several month hiatus of no home internet access, I finally broke down and called the cable company.   Sadly the site was firewalled at work.

If you can catch me up on the latest, it would be appreciated.

My wife and I plan to move as soon as the lease is up. We have not had heat all winter.  Prayers for housing and a job for my wife. We lost the cats.  A new cat named Rigoletto came into to replace Fidelio and Rose.
My wife has a tentative offer which has been slowed by a lengthy background check.

Those are the headlines in brief.

Welcome back ExShep,

Sorry to hear the housing situation isn't going as well as hoped.  It's been a hard winter, hang in there a little more and enjoy spring when it pops through.  My thoughts will be with you, your family, and your cats (but mostly you and your family - Angry's not a big cat person).

A three month review:

a) DrSam dropped by to say hello and tell us we're not fully healed.
b) a GC* leader stopped through to tell us it wasn't HIS branch of GC* that is naughty, it must be the other gc*s.....
c) gcm claimed membership in the NAE.  NAE said "nope - but gcac is.  Is there a difference?"  Linda shared this with us.
d) Nate has stepped up his quest for the truth on all things wiki.  No pro-gcm slant, no pro-decomm slant.  Just the truth.  Nate is a good guy.
e) someone grabbed an excerpt of a personal page, created a stand alone web site of it, and mass emailed a link to it to a large number of current gc* people.

That sounds like a lot.   GC can be so enigmatic at times.  There is denial of the past and present, the "nope, never happened here, Bub".  There are segments which are untouched by the milieu.

A humourous case in point:

Pastor George was out sick.  He was genuinely down for the count. Kyung Lee, an associate pastor,  stepped in to teach one of the orientation  classes.  I joked  if he was prepared to lead this afternoon's "Short-Hopler Lecture Series".  He did not get the punch line. He was completely out of the loop.  He had seminary training and, I believe was working his doctorate at the time.   He never had any exposure to the McCotter years or Blitz.
