I have looked at this site every few months since moving on from life as "the guy" in the GCM/GCAC world.  A lot of processing and healing.  Loved being in ministry at the time but thankful to be on the outside of "the movement".  Would enjoy connecting especially with  pastors/leaders.

Hey there JV,

"EverAStudent" here is both a regular and was a pastor (I don't know if he remained in that capacity after he left: I seem to have forgotten that detail). There are others that come around, but EAS is the guy I'm most familiar: I've kind of lost a lot of familiarity with the forum from something of a furlough. : )

Welcome JV. Sorry for all you have gone through.

I appreciate what you said about how you loved to be in ministry, but are thankful to be outside GC and I was wondering if you would feel comfortable sharing some of the reasons you are thankful to be outside of the movement and/or how you came to that conclusion. (I don't mean personal specifics, but more in the area of ideas, practices, theology, etc.) Also, I'm always curious, were the "old days" a big deal? Was McCotter talked about much?

Hi, jv -- a belated welcome to the forum.  As others have said, a few ex-pastors contribute here from time to time, and I'm aware of a few more that lurk and read once in a while.  If you have a deep need, I may be able to put you in contact with one or two, but that's a card I can only play once or maybe twice.  PM me if you want to talk about it off-forum, but please be patient -- I don't visit too regularly any more.

I've found a lot of healing here, and others' experiences have helped me to process and understand a *lot*.
