Hello everybody!

I'm Nate Swinton.  Some of you know me from De-Commissioned.  Some of you know me from The Rock at Iowa State.  I'm a current member of a GCM church, and I'm working towards going on full-time staff with The Rock in the next few months.

Why am I here?  I'm here because I can relate to alot of the stories/concerns brought up at De-Commissioned, and I feel like with stuff like this, everyone is either part of the problem or part of the solution.  I want to be part of the solution, whatever that looks like.  I don't have time to write my whole testimony down here, but I'll hopefully get to it soon.

Hey,

Welcome aboard.  Good to see in these nice surroundings.  Glad to see you are posting away.  Always appreciate your insights.  Back in the Buckeye state.  Found a good church.  Understandably GCd out.  Feels good to be back in Ohio.

Hey everybody,

This will be brief for now, but I just thought you'd be interested to know that I resigned from GCM last week and I'm job-searching.  Please pray for my wife and I during this time.

As far as details, officially I've resigned because my new-born daughter makes late nights in the dorms impossible, and support-raising makes a reliable income impossible (I want my daughter to go to college and I want to retire someday).

Unofficially, PM me.

Yea, so someone named "Big Bird" just emailed me ~100 GCM staffer's email addresses.  I'm guessing the implication is that I'll take up their cause and email staffers "bad things" all the time like they do.

I want to make it clear that I want to be at peace with GC.  It has been a rough couple years, and I don't want to do any backbiting, especially immature (and impotent, I might add) stuff like spamming.  I want to leave clean and honorably, and be done.

Big Bird... Clone...  Please leave me out of your smear campaigns.

Nate,

I've been thinking about you lately. I'm glad you've made this hard decision, and I'll be praying for you and your family in this rough transition. By the way, what is your daughters name?

Wow! someone has a real ax to grind. I must admit, there are moments when I feel like doing similar things. But tonight, I'm feeling very Ghandi. Let's have peace.

Hi Gene, good to see you again.  Our little girl's name is Cayleigh Mya Swinton.  There's a lot of pics here if you want to see her:

She's one of the best things that has ever happened to me.  Daughters are amazing.

And yea, thanks for the peace plug Smiley  That whole peace-makers... sons of God thing, from the Bible - that sounds good to me.
