Be warned "liberated", when the likes of "Unknowntoall4ever" counsels you to go to the people in leadership who are, in fact, the origin of these practices, of gossip, elitism, cliques, etc.--as EverAStudent (look him up, he's on these forums), who formerly was a pastor in GCM and who was forced out because of his faithfulness to the word of God can attest--he is parrotting the abusive teachings of these men to safeguard themselves from public rebuke which even the apostles themselves could not escape.
<BR><BR>
When he writes,
He is parroting part of what they called "the Matthew 18 process", which isn't, in fact, a process of moving-up an episcopal hierarchy--just read Matthew 18 and that is quite clear. Nor does it say anything about public false teaching or public sins. The true "Matthew 18" process has never been practiced in GC* churches: the closest they had were kangaroo courts where the victim was put in front of a congregation and kept silent or abused by Jim McCotter--the founding "apostle" for whom a quasi-apology statement/of weaknesses was half-heartedly issued upon the initiative of one national leader only who was willing to sign it which the others, to me and whole congregations, have stated was a mistake/regrettable but which has proven useful to them to trot-out now and then when the same issues from the last 30 years resurface because these are fake shephers with false humility who lord it over everyone and not only abuse, but protect the abusers of, the sheep.
The reason they say to go up that hierarchy is that they DON'T want you to go to the congregation publicly--when they teach falsely their own stated process is to go to the top, and if you still disagree you can silently, "decide to leave" (as four of their pastors, including several "founding disciples" trained under McCotter and cliqued-in with the national leadership, explained to us at an "emergency meeting").
Beware these men's disciples, they're wicked and all wholesome-y in their words but without understanding. May the Spirit of Grace guide you into all truth just as Jesus Christ promised to his [genuine] disciples.
