Last night, a few of us from my church went to see Unplanned, the movie about Abby Johnson and Planned Parenthood. Having seen a few cheesy Christian movies in the past, I kept my expectations low. As it turns out, the overall quality of the film came as a pleasant surprise. It was actually a pretty good movie.

Also, I had heard that the R rating was politically motivated, in an effort to discourage potential viewers. There may be some truth to that. However, there were a couple of scenes that made me think perhaps the R was deserved. In particular, the ultrasound scene was much more intense than I had expected. One of the other women from my church said she had to keep her eyes closed during that part. Based on that one scene, I'm not even sure I would recommend the movie to a woman who has already had an abortion. But to anyone else, I would say, go. This is a movie that's worth your time.

Thanks, Huldah, for the recommendation.  In light of what is politically & morally transpiring on the right to live, it is so timely!

It's a good movie.... I can understand the R-rating... But I would also give the "Passion of the Christ" an R-rating...

R-ratings do not only reflect sexual activity... It could be for gore, or violence. A lot of the Bible would be R-rated if It was put into a movie.
