I am  not sure what the rationale was  for this  one.  Grace Community  Church  Plano TX changed  their name to LifePointe Church.   There was a  service where all congregants had to sign off  publicly  at the  end of the service.  Reasons for  the  change were vague at best.      GCC was  a GC church until  c. 2007 when they left the association.  George Feiser of the  Kansas City  church is still pastor at Grace now  known as LifePointe.   

Needless to say that did  somewhat give me pause.   Any takers on that one?

"Taker", sure.  "Helper", probably not. 

I'm sure you did the same sort of Google searches I did.  There's an awful lot of "LifePointe" churches around; I was surprised, given such an, ummm, "interesting" name.       The ones whose web pages I looked at tended to be fairly new (5 years old or less) and mostly non-denominational.   It's hard to tell if they're part of a larger movement of some sort, or just have the same taste in ChurcheNamese. 

Maybe Grace joined up with another local church?  I've seen that happen around here a couple of times, and have heard of at least one ex-GC church that has done it.

Thanks to my experience with "Old GC", and others' experiences with similar movements, I tend to be wary of groups of non-denominational churches.    However, I have no clue about any LifePointe church or association of churches,  good, bad, or indifferent.

Great avatar.  Considering it  is  1100 miles from where I live to Texas,  it  is not exactly high on the priority list.   Unless it comes up the forum, it will probably not more than that was interesting.
