Oh my goodness, the tactics this college girl experienced from ICOC proselytizers were
startlingly similar to methods of GCx recruiting. It is so well broken down into specific and gradual steps. ICOC’s “discipling” programs may have different names & time schedules, but they have the same motive using emotional & spiritual guilt nonetheless. For instance, GCx brainwashes with LT & FaithWalkers (now Fusion) programs.
Pressuring with unwarranted fear and false reasoning the “recruit”
to doubt his own decision making and and let others be master of his life. All so they can brag about how many they have “brought” into the fold. Most people in these groups got there through FALSE pretenses!
Found myself identifying with a lot of their abusive tactics in this girl’s story.
