It brings tears to my eyes that these college students who have suffered the confusion of relative truth and the “denial” of God in our culture have asked for a reviving of God’s truth, God’s real love, and His unexplainable peace and God answered with an outpouring of His Spirit in worship, forgiveness, supernatural love, salvations, and healing. This generation on the college campuses today seems the most desperately in need to hear from God Almighty Himself. All Praise to Our God for revealing himself to them afresh.

This has become obvious in the Asbury Revival since the beginning of February 2023.

A few people have criticized the revival that began at Asbury college because it’s not primarily about evangelism. But, they forget a very important and foundational ministry of Jesus - his healing. Hearts and souls and bodies often need to be healed first before they can minister to others. They must be confident in the unconditional love of God to be excited to share it with others. Evangelism is WAY more effective when a heart is overflowing with God’s love for him and his fellow neighbor.

Many young people today are in such pain and desperation including young believers. They have been hurt by incomprehensible bullying, moral confusion, and suicidal temptations. The evangelism they need should be accompanied with unconditional love and forgiveness. There is no show or better than thou. This seems to be what has been supernaturally happening on college campuses right now.

“GCx” college groups might be hard-pressed to try to imitate this because it is genuine and humble like Jesus. This true movement seems not to be orchestrated by men but by the freedom of the Holy Spirit; and that is something “GCx” leaders know little about.

Thank you so much for bringing up this topic, Janet! I've been praying for revival in the US, and especially among the younger generations. I don't know whether or not Asbury means that those prayers are being answered, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Time will tell whether or not this is the start of something significant.

A few people have criticized the revival that began at Asbury college because it’s not primarily about evangelism.

And yet, that in itself is reason to hope! Real revival can't come until individual Christians are re-awakened to God's holiness. Real revival can't happen until the church itself repents. And there's so much to repent for! Pastors who tolerate sexual or domestic abuse in their flocks; racial animosity; materialism when so many are in need; lack of concern for the lost; the list goes on. (And I include myself as one who has much to repent of.) Revival is about Christians getting serious about their faith first, and evangelism is the fruit that will follow naturally.

There are people (I'm one) who stop what they're doing and pray for America for one minute, all at the same time, every day. This happens at 6PM Pacific, so I guess that's 9PM EST? I invite everyone reading to join us, if that's practical for them. (Obviously some people will be at work, or may live in a part of the world where they'd normally be asleep at that hour.)

The revival I've been praying for is not an extended music service. It's changed lives.  It's bringing people into the Kingdom, and as a much hoped-for side benefit, having a positive effect on the culture and government. More than anything, it's a renewed focus on the majesty, glory, goodness, and love of God Himself. I hope many more will join in praying for our churches, our spiritual leaders, our schools and school boards, our politicians, and the lost generation that's seeking meaning in all kinds of destructive counterfeits.

Thank you, Huldah, for the invitation to pray for our country for one minute every day at 6pm PST. I am curious to see how that little minute will change me and my country in the future. It also helps me remember where to take all those burdens of fear and worry over our culture becoming godless and thus more harmful. If every time I complained about awful things public schools are introducing to our children, or anti-Christian restrictions for people at work, or anti-Bible legislation against our churches and pastors I would have sent up a slew of prayers. But, most of my groans and complaints about such things are not followed by prayer. I’ll start by dedicating that one little minute a day at 9:00pm EST to such important things. Thanks again, Huldah.

It seems from the interviews and testimonies I listened to (on various YouTube stations) of those present at this event at Asbury University Chapel, that the pouring out their worship of God and his Son Jesus Christ has resulted in God pouring out His Spirit along with its authentic fruit. It seems to have inspired a great sense of humility and confession of sin in awe of His Holiness and Redeeming Love. One girl described many people reconciling with and embracing people who were “their least favorite people” at school. Also People becoming born-again who didn’t know Jesus.

One young woman who was in the choir at the beginning of this “supernatural” occurrence said she would label it more of “an encounter with God.”

One video shows a woman being carried who is having “some kind of seizure” and another woman commanding a demonic spirit to come out of her. You can actually hear a strange scream immediately following that and then I believe she is calm. There were also reports of people being healed.

Perhaps this is revival beginning or revival will follow. I am believing regardless God is making himself manifest to young people seeking Him on this and other college campuses, and revealing Himself to this generation in a VERY significant way. It may not be a coincidence that the movie, The Jesus Revolution, about a great spiritual awakening in America has also come out at the very same time.

It must make it all the more (potentially) thrilling to those actually praying for such moves of God.

Filmmaker Alex Kendrick Visits Lee Univ. Revival

“… he was at Lee University a private Christian college in Cleveland, Tennessee. … There's no show here. There is no spectacle other than seeing hearts transformed. Praise the Lord!" the filmmaker said. "And so I'm very, very grateful. So what's going on at Asbury, Lee University, Samford University, Cedarville in Ohio, there's a number of colleges that are now seeking the Lord."

CBN also says, “ New reports are also surfacing of the revival fire spreading to additional locations like Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. … And students at other locations are asking God to send revival there too, like Baylor University, Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist University.

Byron Paulus, the founder of the ministry oneCry, tweeted, "Baylor campus last night. Growing intensity and urgency in prayer and worship will lead to accelerating movement of revival. A powerful 'How to Pray' document circulating on campus. Never in my 47 years of revival ministry have I seen this widespread of movement."

(Bold Emphasis mine)
