My husband and daughter sang this at Evergreen many years ago and the sound guy recorded it and gave them a CD of it. So glad he did.

WOW!!  Oh my goodness, what a gift your daughter has!  Of course your husband playing and singing complemented the song well also.

Hey out there if you didn't go to Good Friday Service tonight - close your eyes and listen to the song on the link above or the one that follows, "Elohim", by Linda's daughter.  Her voice will draw your eyes upon your Savior.  As she sings, he's all you need.

I wasn't in the vibe to go to the special Friday Service before Easter this evening.  But, my husband had one of the small parts speaking so off we went.  As we entered the sanctuary the lights were down low except upon the cross in front.  The mood was quiet and contemplative.  The words to the songs we sang lifted my inner eyes up a bit.  The recounting of those final hours of Jesus' earthly life by the Word of God made Jesus' actions heartfelt to me once again.  The hours of eclipsing darkness demonstrating the judgment taking place.  To Jesus the suffering must have been "an eternity" as this day was surely like a thousand years.  Seeing the crown of thorns upon the post, and the black cloth draped over the lintel made me feel for a few moments a glimpse of grief and loss upon the Father and his disciples.  He actually did DIE.

By the middle of the Service my eyes were more heavenward and I was SO glad I came.  That short service of deep symbolism gently moved my heart and spirit.  It refreshingly reminded me of what Christianity is all about - JESUS.

Loved the song by your daughter, Linda! Beautiful!

A Day Late, but Priceless, what follows:

IT'S FRIDAY, BUT SUNDAY'S COMIN'
by S.M. Lockridge (1913-2000), a prominent African-American preacher
known for his dynamic, passionate, and fervent sermons.

It's Friday. Jesus is praying. Peter's a sleeping.
Judas is betraying. But Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. Pilate's struggling. The council is conspiring.
The crowd is vilifying. They don't even know that Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. The disciples are running like sheep without a shepherd.
Mary's crying. Peter is denying. But they don't know that Sunday's a comin'.

It's Friday. The Romans beat my Jesus. They robe him in scarlet.
They crown him with thorns. But they don't know that Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. See Jesus walking to Calvary. His blood dripping. His body stumbling.
And his spirit's burdened. But you see, it's only Friday. Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. The world's winning. People are sinning. And evil's grinning.

It's Friday. The soldiers nail my Savior's hands to the cross. They nail my Savior's feet
to the cross. And then they raise him up next to criminals. It's Friday. Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. The disciples are questioning. What has happened to their King. And the
Pharisees are celebrating that their scheming has been achieved. But they
don't know it's only Friday. Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. He's hanging on the cross. Feeling forsaken by his Father. Left alone
and dying. Can nobody save him? Ooooooh it's Friday. But Sunday's comin'.

It's Friday. The earth trembles. The sky grows dark. My King yields his spirit. It's
Friday.
Hope is lost. Death has won. Sin has conquered. and Satan's just a laughin'.

It's Friday. Jesus is buried. A soldier stands guard. And a rock is rolled into place.
But it's Friday. It's only Friday. Sunday is a comin'!

Was He God
     As He claimed to Be?
The Author of Life
     Nailed to a Tree.

Where was Justice?
     Where was Love?

Then in a moment
     in a Burst of Light
Death was Vanquished
     Love had won the fight!
-from a song at church this morning, don't know the name or author

"No human being would say this: I am the resurrection, the life, and even if you die, yet you will live."   -Troy Dobbs

"The grave is not the end. It is a change of address for the believer!"  -Troy Dobbs

Hope! Joy! Peace! Grace! Mercy! Life!

HE IS RISEN!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

After Lenten Thought for Today for all of us.

My sin—oh, the bliss of this glorious thought—
My sin, not in part, but the whole,
Is nailed to His Cross, and I bear it no more;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
