To the Leaders of GCx,

I understand your wanting to not waste your life, to not disappoint God, to not be wrong.  So concerned that if you disobey someone who has held himself up as God's Visionary, or disobey the scriptures he has pervertly taught you; you will be walking away from God.  But, actually, nothing could be further from the truth.  By staying you are getting further and further away from Jesus and his vital grace.  And, you are hurting other children of God by teaching them to do the same.

I struggled with this before and shortly after leaving GCx; and even while starting to attend a very doctrinally sound church.  It seems that is how the brain seems to respond when many strong dogmatic repeated talking points are attached to an idea; and in this case, the idea being 'what is pleasing to God'.  These harmful and damaging thoughts seem to form an actual dark toxic mass in the brain that becomes larger and larger (based on research by Dr. Caroline Leaf).

Listen, you aren't the first person whose ever been misled about who you are serving.  Paul was indoctrinated in this type of environment, too, in circles of the Pharisees.    Blindly, with some leaders whose lips honored God, but not their hearts.  But he would probably tell you today that as a result of it he was a white-washed tomb.  I, too, have sung songs, done works, and shunned "evil" just going through the motions - but, as one who already had truly accepted Christ.  My heart had grown cold and could care less; but on the outside I still did what I thought "appeared right".

I believe God has rich wonderful callings for you, especially those I knew personally.  As I visualize them happening, they bring tears of consolement and joy to all involved.  They would actually MEND broken hearts.  I believe you want to perform this greatest ministry of Jesus.

I am praying God will remove the scales from your eyes as he did mine.

In Christ,

Janet Easson Martin
