Is GCC a 501c3 church organization? Does anybody know if all GCC churches are 501c3?

GCC as an organization has its own 501c3 but the churches that are a part of it should all have their own 501c3s.  GCC's affiliation with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability has been verified (because some of us on the forum had questions about the make-up of the board, as we do about the make-up of ANY GCC-church board who seem to be filled with family members or yes men and fail to provide actual accountability).

This is what Great Commission says it is: "Great Commission Churches is a U.S. based fellowship of independent churches designed to equip, unite and provide accountability to churches and ministries that have a desire to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Our heart is that churches will model "New Testament Christianity in Action Today."

This is what it lists for Services and Programs:

"Great Commission Churches helps coordinate ministry activity in the U.S., including church planting, youth events, leadership development, and church growth. GCC also collects and distributes equipping resources for church leaders and members.

The following is a list of some of GCC's events and resources for local churches:

Great Commission Leadership Institute Foundations Program (GCLI) - Church-based leadership development for pastors-in-training
Prayer Alliance - Weekly email video to mobilize people to pray for new gospel initiatives throughout the U.S. and the world
Pastors Conference - Annual gathering of church pastors and leaders
Faithwalkers Journal - Daily email devotional
Accountability to Churches - The accountability process in Great Commission Churches
In addition, GCC promotes the following resources offered by pastors and members of GCC churches and events sponsored by churches in GCC:

Books and Resources - Written by pastors and members in GCC churches
GCLI "Going Deeper" Regionals - Church sponsored regional leadership events for current pastors and pastors-in-training
Faithwalkers Conference - Church-sponsored conferences for teens, young adults, and anyone who wants to refresh their faith and vision"

According to the IRS website, Great Commission Churches and Reliant Ministry (formerly Great Commission Ministries) are both valid 501c3 charities. I assume that individual GCC churches are also 501c3 charities in their own right as well. You can verify the tax-exempt status of any organization at https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/.

GCC is also a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). There's a recent thread discussing whether or not GCC actually meets the membership standards set by the ECFA: http://forum.gcmwarning.com/general-discussion/great-commission-churches-and-the-ecfa/.
