re: Mark Darling in FULL DENIAL about VanDyck

As of today, Mark's weekly blog-letter, at the last paragraph, he states and says:

"In July of 2018, I was given an ultimatum by my Christian employer. Cooperate with their lie, self-denunciate, submit to their Moaist like reeducation program, or lose my job of 32 years! I absolutely refused to cooperate with their lie. The next day I resigned and walked away from 32 years of sacrifice, blood, sweat, and tears. They did all they could to defame, sabotage, and destroy my reputation. I lost everything, but even now, 2 years later, knowing the full extent of what it cost me and my family, I would do it again! I made my choice! Like John the Baptist, I will stand up, I will speak out, and they can cut off my head!"

Nothing about Susan. Let's recall the news here too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mloGZexR_7k

Here is the full letter written by Mark Darling/Jeromy. The url: https://strongdisciple.com/portfolio/edition-96-stand-up-speak-out

There are multiple women. The ECC appointed “independent” investigator found abuse. The constant denial and subsequent attacks on the women and ECC is really sad. Is it possible that he truly doesn’t understand that he acted inappropriately?

Ironically, we left ECC because our high school daughter was in CO on a retreat and asked by Darling to commit to ECC FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE.

Darling said he was so committed to GCC that he WOULD DIE IN A GCC CHURCH.

Then, things got tough and his commitment to the group proved to be not a commitment. And now, thanks to the Darling situation, GCC has come to an end.

It’s a breathtaking turn of events.

What a pathetic, sad mess.

Also, he fails to mention that his “Christian employer” was the church he co-founded with Brent Knox and the woman who brought the original accusation was the wife of a pastor. I’m sure it slipped his mind.

After being in an organization for over 30 years that protects it’s elders and directors at nearly all costs, it probably comes as a shock to actually be held accountable for your actions as both an elder and a director on it’s board.  No doubt GCx Leaders (& especially The Directing Board) felt they were sheltered from being accountable for just about any wrongdoing.  They unbiblically had each others’ backs.  Loyalty trumped sin by the leadership with very few exceptions.  They were basically untouchable.

As one insider revealed, a unique board was created to give the apppearance of going through the motions of an investigation.  It was “understood” it was designed to prove the GCx elder and director innocent.  As many have described on here, the deck was perpetually stacked against the victims of spiritual abuse under GCx leadership.  This was the first instance I am aware of where an “outsider” was allowed in to hear the victims’ testimonies.  Though the outside lawyer was selected, hired and paid by GCx alone to be part of this investigation, she had not planted her flag to “loyally” die there.  Gratefully, loyalty did not triumph over abusive wrongdoing to this outsider.  The church and it’s directing organization couldn’t keep their secrets inside this time.  They would be an offender along with the sexually improper pastor had they not voted to impute consequences.  The instances of very inappropriate sexual speech and behavior toward multiple victims over the years had been clearly heard by this “investigating attorney”.

So, it must have come as a complete surprise to the offending pastor and the GCx organization that ‘one of their own’ was called out.  In fact, they seemed so staggered by the outcome that the real complaints of abuse were not dismissed, that they threatened GCx leaders who did not go along with their blind loyalty scheme to be cut off from financial support.  These GCx directors and leaders eventually divided from those who finally refused to be “yes-men”.  Though they have conveniently eliminated the title Great Commision Churches, they seem to still be operating again new names with the same leaders.

So, this questionable GCx elder/pastor was perhaps going along like he had been trained, to deny all allegations of wrongdoing regardless of whether they were true.  Dismiss, Deceive, Deny is the name of their game.  Maybe some of those men fictionally came to believe they could do nothing wrong since they were an untouchable leader in the Great Commission Churches.

And the greatest accomplices are still 'shepherding' the flock. So disgusting.

I agree that it is EXTREMELY sad that they are still operating though they have not publically repented and apologized for teaching false doctrine and practices of Jim McCotter, the essential founder.

I am still connected to the FB feeds of their videos.  When a Bowen video popped I felt sick.

Mark Bowen has no real pastoral training in the whole of his career, Phoenix. Bowen was a very successful medical sales representative almost a VP of sales when Mark Darling asked him to be a "pastor" at the 109th Street site those many years ago. Bowen was a good storyteller, but had no depth to his stories, no more than a Tony Robbins CON, just like Darling's endless stories how to be successful at life. Make your kids rich in emotional success. Darling knew Bowen would be a good money-raiser in the ECC world. And that's what Bowen did for Darling. Raise a lot of money over the years. The year that Darling left, he bragged about coming to Minnesota with $100 in a station wagon, and now the church had over $100 million dollars to its name ALL because of Darling. Far from the truth. There are other factors at play. Brent Knox employed Padilla Speer Beardsley PR firm to do marketing to the South Metro under the guide of Thomas Jollie, also a VP of Public Relations who went to Evergreen at the same time. Free VP work for a small church with Bowen's finesse, it was what Bowen was good at. Making cash for Darling.
