I received notice from Carol Giambalvo that Paul Martin, director of Wellspring Retreat and Treatment Center had  passed away recently. Details of his passing are sketchy.  My understanding is that he had  a long battle with leukemia.  Persons wishing offer memorial notes  may to www.refocus.org and contact the webmaster.  Carol, who manages the site,  will keep a  collection for a future memorial page.

Paul was  a former GC elder affected by the abuse. After  a period of recuperation, the Lord called him to open a  center for those abused by cults and spiritually abusive groups. Thousands were helped either by Wellspring or by his  leading discussions for former member recovery groups.

Personally Paul helped me sort out the loss of a now former GC member and loosing her. He was also helpful in the recovery process.

Unless there is news to the contrary. the operations of Wellspring will continue.
