We had shunning too, Margaret. That action by GCx was so disturbing and anti-scriptural. It looked NOTHING like what God intended in that “church” organization. The main case for not fellowshipping with a believer for a finite period of time in the New Testament was for continuing in sin even pagans viewed as disgusting (A man sleeping with his own father’s wife.) The vast majority of shunnings in GCx had NOTHING to do with sin, but EVERYTHING to do with SILENCING those who shared truths about error, lies, and abuse they witnessed or inquired about in GCx. It was about spreading evil reports of innocent people to cover up real evil of the founder and his blind leaders. Those young in their faith actually thought from strong erroneous persuasion there that those persons in question were actually sinful.

I agree, Margaret, since those in GCx were basically our only close relationships the longer we stayed (due to the pressure to drop friends and be distanced from family who didn’t support GCx) it also seemed too great a loss to leave.
