I was just reading some of Cindy's links. One took me to the Rick Ross site and a page I had found in my early Googling. However, there wasn't much else on that site (or at least I didn't know about it). However, I clicked on a link and was taken here:

http://www.rickross.com/groups/mccotter.html

This is full of many things I had never seen. Perhaps they are on GCxweb and I just missed them.

I wondered about that. After I saw them on the RR site, I went to GCx and realized that a bunch more stuff was added from the last time I was there.

It makes me so sad to see that sensitive people who love God have been deceived by this man and/or his "movement" for decades through his false teaching on "commitment to leaders" and "commitment for life". Nothing has really changed, has it?

Families destroyed, relationships ended, solid Christians pointing out error being called slanderers all in the name of "unity". Such a wicked thing, "committment to GC" disguised as "commitment to God".

But, then, I shouldn't be surprised since Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Linda, I noticed the link you posted above for Rick Ross’ site has been suspiciously altered, hiding the original page and substituting with a “foreign” one. It now deceptively redirects and puts up a page for online casinos, entitled “Rick’s Picks”. Doubtful, this is Rick Alan Ross’ real site. I wonder how long ago the deceptive switch was made. Could it be when links to documents on our site and even Wikipedia’s site pertaining to James D. McCotter were also altered to redirect to a “foreign” page?

Here is a link I found on Mr. Ross’ Cult Education Institue site which may be more like what you found back then:

https://culteducation.com/component/itpgooglesearch/search.html?gsquery=Jim+McCotter

And, there is page dedicated to GCx including McCotter activities (which has been referenced elsewhere on this Forum):

https://culteducation.com/group/1046-great-commission-international.html?tmpl=component&print=1

Finally, some may be intererested to know of another publication by Rick Ross as recent as 2014 below:

Cults Inside Out: How People Get In and Can Get Out by Rick Alan Ross – October 16, 2014

https://www.amazon.com/Cults-Inside-Out-How-People/dp/149731660X

(Even the “Foreward” -on Amazon.com- of this book is interesting and informative)

Update on above post:

Thanks to some good researching by Huldah, we have learned that the change on Rick Ross’ original page was not due to deceptive redirecting, but reacquiring of the domain by another.

“I also did a bit of searching on the topic of Rick Ross. Apparently at some point he changed the name of his organization from the "Rick A. Ross Institute" to the "Cult Education Institute." At that time, he also changed the domain name of his website. The domain name "rickross.com" was then purchased by a rapper of the same name, which explains the change in content.”

Thanks, Huldah, for the important and helpful updated correction to my post.
