Indelible Grace rocks!

Years ago, one Sunday at church (gcm) they did one of their songs.  I've been hooked ever since.  I can't express how much God has used the richness of the lyrics to draw me nearer to Himself during extremely difficult times.

Their hope is to "help the church recover the tradition of putting old hymns to new music for each generation, and to enrich our worship with a huge view of God and His indelible grace."

They have a new cd out with "Cling to the Cross", a new favorite of mine.

You can have a listen to it here if you'd like~ http://www.igracemusic.com/ig5/

Thanks for asking, researchpersona!

I love all kinds of music.  Currently, the music in my car that I have been listening to are...

The Envy Corps-- The lead singer is a former GCM member!  But the music is secular and alternative-y sounding... they sound really British to me.

ABBA- Number ones-- I love this album.

Regina Spektor--  I absolutely love her music.

But I adore jazz, rock, contemporary Christian, chanting, new age, oldies, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, hymns... basically everything INCLUDING country.  I love it all.

How about this...

I like everything except for these songs:

1.  BBBBBBBad to the Bone.
2.  hmm.  Well can't think of any other ones.

Since I posted this, I'll give a few examples. unfortunately I'm still trying to remain anonymous (for the moment) because so many in GCM take criticism as an attack or personally (and no wonder with the teachings and definitions they're taught, and the corporate reactions that reinforce them) so I can't give-up too much as I think some who know me would I. D. me quickly, and I'd like to talk openly with them without a pre-initiated induration or hurt in them. It's love.

Anyways,

I like a song called "Always Coming Home back to You" by Atmosphere: it's a rap-like story-song with a lot of literary elements that went into it; I don't know how many people might like it if they don't get those parts, but it's really enjoyable.

80's music: great when not demeaning to women...used to like it all but when Christ came and I started listening to the lyrics that changed a bit. In particular certain groups that were around are really great.

Classical music. Oh the skill and highs and lows!

Folk music. Dylan anyone? (This is one many can agree on...and some gag on; a funny joke I heard once was "who gave this man a license to sing", but it's the thoughtfulness of the songs that make them great...except for the bad ones he released just to prove people would still like them because he was so famous. Some friends told me about that. : )   )

Indelible Grace...as per the above recommendatin. Like it. : )

More when able to think of them, maybe...

Oh!

Can't forget Hymns: songs AND doctrinally instructive (or destructive in some cases...oops!); I'd tell my favorite, but there's one person who'd I. D. me right away. Kind of tempting to put it up anyways, but sadly not yet; I especially like when they're all about the Lord so that we sing of and praise him at the same time and take focus of ourselves, vs. "I will so and so to you" (repetitive contemporary) vs. "Thou Lord".

What else...

Don't like screaming music so much.

Still listening to Indelible grace, by the way, thanks for the recommendation!
