So since some excerpts are up, does anyone have the book "Cause and Effect" from CURE? And does anyone know where/how to obtain it?

You can get it from Larry. I have a copy as well.

If people are interested, and I find time and motivation, I can type up the rest of the chapters.

Really there should be an entire GCMWarning page dedicated to explaining what the 1985 issue of The Cause was, why it's important and so forth. It lays out of a lot of their more controversial beliefs in writing.

I don't know how to contact Larry, though...now I would prefer to get it from him to provide reimbursement (the workman is worthy of his hire!).

I wouldn't mind you typing it up, though if you did, might you place the page beginnings/ends into it with {start page #}  {end page #} and the bibliographic information? That way it could actually be referrenced.
