Thank you, Huldah. It is important for all posting here to try to abide by the rules set forth for this forum. For this reason I have deleted Vince’s post.

I took my spiral notebook of Affirmations (in Christ) with me in my car today.  When I found myself waiting I opened up my cherished spiral to find a page I hadn’t recently viewed to select a couple of affirmations to feast on.  They so often are my immovable entrance to joy and sanity.  The two I decided on go hand in hand.  As usual, they are needed reminders of my position in God’s sight and his acceptance of me.

Essential Affirmations

ALL MY SIN HAS BEEN IMPUTED TO JESUS.

ALL HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS HAS BEEN ACCOUNTED TO ME.

So, when you look in the mirror say to the reflection there, “Child of God, you’re not a little righteous. You’re A LOT righteous!”

Jesus died and rose for us to make it so.

Grace Enables Us to Keep His Commands

This is what God has been teaching me the last 5 years, which feel like the most victorious years of my life. When I read the scripture with the “lens of grace” I am not overwhelmed. Otherwise, I may feel condemned with all the ways I don’t measure up.  This lens of unconditional love and undeserved favor has thrown me to the feet of Jesus. Listen to what John says the original greek means in this passage. It is similar to the concept of empowering the woman caught in adultery with his words, “Go, and sin NO MORE.”  He gives the mantle of grace to the believer, not the law.  Those verses are also addressed by John Bevere in the video at the top of the page link under “Porn-Free” messages.

Here’s John and Lisa with God’s revelation of GRACE to him in John 14:15. When you click on the link go down to the fifth video on that page. (Couldn’t capture correct link for this one.)

FOUNDATIONS for the SOUL

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.
He has become a high priest forever
, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6:19-20

To me, assuring ourselves through his word of how God now sees us as holy and blameless IS the anchor for our soul. We are now the righteousness of God in Christ. We are now altogether beautiful and there is no blemish in any in Christ. We are now clean with our sins eternally atoned for. We are now innocent and beloved in Christ. There is no earning this type of righteousness. It’s cost is prohibitive. It was purchased with the love offering of his body and his blood alone.

To me, this is the new man we are to put on. The one who has been washed and purified, pronounced holy and blameless in the sight of God. It is from this solid anchor we can live out who we were meant to be. We can move in our gifts with the freedom of the HOLY Spirit. We can encourage others as God has greatly affirmed and assured us in his completely blotting out and fully forgiving our multitude of sins. This is the man we can rejoice in when we blow it and are honest about our failure toward God and others.

Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whose iniquity the LORD does not count against him,
in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Psalm 32:1-2

It seems when we think correctly about how God deals with us in Christ as his beloved children, according to his faithful guidance and never because our sin deserves it; we are compelled to walk out our calling. We overflow with Christ and think and act as he does. God no longer condemns us no matter how far away we may have strayed. ‘There is NO LONGER CONDEMNATION for any who are in Christ Jesus.’ It is his loving hand that moves us closer to his path and to becoming more like his son, though it sometimes is painful in the moment. This truth keeps us close to our Heavenly Father when the devil temps us to believe lies as he whispers that God is mean, or doesn’t care enough about us.

He has not dealt with us according to our sins
or repaid us according to our iniquities
.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His loving devotion for those who fear Him.

As far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

Psalm 103:10-14

ESSENTIAL AFFIRMATION

I AM HOLY AND BLAMELESS IN HIS SIGHT.

Building Up What Was Torn Down

GRACE

Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

Colossians 2:6

I would like to learn just one thing from you:
Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?
Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit,
are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?

Galatians 3:2-3

Unfortunately, the founder of GCx and his disciples who continued to carry on his teachings, or in the least never rebuked them, created a climate of required impressing and silent competing to win the favor of men. And, they invoked “God’s name” upon it to disguise it’s worldliness. Pretense and jealousy ran rampant. It was fakeness on steroids. A number of people (I’ve talked to or heard from others) admitted after they left GCx - ‘I was just faking my spiritual maturity and was miserable.’ I sadly can well relate.

Anyhow, the video below with Max Lucado is masterful. He paints a thorough landscape to well illustrate his point. I believe he is talking to those who have not yet accepted Christ AND TO THOSE WHO HAVE. He sketches out our true condition. Thus, the great need for the grace of God - as one coming to Christ AND ONE WANTING TO MATURE in their faith.

If you are able to watch the first 15 minutes, the 13-15 minute mark should encourage you profoundly. It did me.

I DON’T NEED TO EARN MY WORTH BEFORE GOD, I ALREADY POSSESS THE FULL MEASURE.

Found this retro “skit” which seems a perfect follow-up to Max’s illustrative message above. Necessary refreshment for the soul.

ESSENTIAL AFFIRMATIONS

I AM SAVED BY GOD BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY, NOT FROM ANY GOOD THING I HAVE DONE.

I HAVE BEEN GIVEN NEW BIRTH AND A FRESH BEGINNING.

I HAVE BEEN PERMANENTLY GIVEN GOD’s SPIRIT !!!

These can all be found in Titus 3. They can be our shield from lies Satan tries to discourage us with regarding our true identity now in Christ.

GOD MADE PEACE WITH ME !

I STAND IN HIS PRESENCE AS ONE WHO IS HOLY AND FAULTLESS AND INNOCENT.

CHRIST LIVES IN ME WHO IS MY HOPE OF GLORY!

Colossians Chapter One says I must stay deeply and firmly ROOTED in these facts. I must continually hope in this GOOD NEWS !

From “The Grace Awakening” by Chuck Swindoll:

Ponder this: if the Father is satisfied with his Son’s full payment for sin, and we are in his Son by grace through faith, then He is satisfied with you and me. How long must Christians live before we finally believe that?

-Chuck Swindoll

Essential Affirmation

GOD MY FATHER IS SATISFIED WITH ME THROUGH FAITH IN HIS SON’s PAYMENT.

Essential Affirmation

GOD DOES NOT COUNT MY SIN AGAINST ME.

Listening to this message today REALLY lifted me up. I can never hear it too much. The vital truth it teaches is essential to our inner strength and joy. It is FOUNDATIONAL to following Christ. Without it, Christianity seems like a heavy weight impossible to bear. More importantly, God may seem like a harsh taskmaster impossible to please without this truth of his goodness and grace continually offered to us.

This message was VERY MUCH missing from the “gospel” preached regularly inside GCx.

Never Forget

MY SIN HAS BEEN SO ENTIRELY BLOTTED OUT AND ATONED FOR, THAT IT’s POWER TO KEEP ME AWAY FROM GOD HAS BEEN COMPLETELY AND FOREVER TAKEN AWAY.

Days Designed By God

Not by GCx

I love thinking about how much detail God went into planning each one of my days that he formed for me, Psalm 139, verse 16 says. It’s very personal for him. He created plans to shape into a magnificent story only he could write. He knew the hurts ahead, the evil attacks on his plans, but made such beauty from the ashes that his enemies cringed aghast.

Creation itself is a marvel, from the delicate and stunning design of each flower to the vast number and spectacle of the galaxies, placing each of “infinite” stars in its named position. Dwell for a minute on how much more detail God went into making for your story. The marvelous meetings and needed provisions we thought were by chance. The loving people with gifts of compassion and help at just the right moment. The rescue when we thought no one knew our desperation. The abilities and talents we so enjoy.

I think about really good stories I have read. The ones where at some point things were pretty grim and even downright dark for the main character. Some may have been bullied and shamed. Others may have suffered poverty and hopelessness. Then, a corner is turned and hope is around the bend. Strength gradually grows. Fruitful friendships are mutually developing. Movement on a new path is fresh and adventurous. The ribbon of redemption is revealed that has been woven all along and makes the drama all the more exciting and enjoyable. Imagine all the preparation and study the author of a great fictional plot goes into. Meditate on all the real planning of people, places, times, and events with the goal of love in mind for you, for your real redemptive story.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written,
every one of them, the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

Psalm 139:16    ESV

God didn’t make atonement for our sin through the death of His Son just so that we could enter a Holy Heaven. He desires a relationship with us immediately also in our life here on earth. God promises that he will not keep a running account of our sin. He sees us as holy and blameless, forgiven of all our sin. He knows everything we think, and all that we do; but he personally will not punish us for wrongdoing because that has already been completely dealt with at the cross.

But, he will discipline us to steer us away from following a path that will hurt us and others. He tells us we should not lose heart if we are disciplined because he is treating us as beloved children. He is a faithful loving Father in our lives. Below is an affirmation that should provide much motivation to love God more.

Essential Affirmation

MY SINFUL THOUGHTS AND MY SINFUL ACTIONS MY FATHER (in Heaven) WILL NOT REMEMBER.

Remember that there is no condemnation for those who belong to Me.
You have been judged NOT GUILTY for all eternity.

This is Sarah Young’s paraphrase in 1st person of Romans 8:1 from her devotional “Jesus Calling - Enjoying Peace in His Presence.” One of many heart moving treasures of truth in her devotionals.
