Personal paraphrases from “The Power of The Blood” by Andrew Murray:

Essential Affirmations

My heart finds rest and deliverance as I walk and glory in the power of the precious blood.

Jesus is my high priest who shed and lives to apply his blood to me.

I have obtained my new & holy life through Jesus’ blood and resurrection.

You Have Not Lost Your Anointing!

The Spirit has moved me with tears to share this with you. It is stunningly essential to our view of ourselves and our Savior. “You have not lost your anointing!” Experiencing the abundant life in Christ is built upon what you have received in Him when you first accepted Him. This anointing is NOT earned or deserved. In Christ he has “anointed you with divine appointment, divine authorization, divine empowerment, and divine accompaniment” to carry out his divine callings in small and big matters.

To hear the scriptures teaching and confirming these things you would be GREATLY ENCOURAGED to listen to them outlined there in ”Feast for the Soul”, Part 3 of 4-part series titled, Anointed and Sealed by Beth Moore.

This would actually be a good video to listen to repeatedly if you are suffering from loss of power, confidence, or hope in your walk with God. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS UNDERMINED AND STOLEN by the founder of GCx, James (Jim) D. McCotter. We were taught in GCx THAT WE WERE SPIRITUAL PAUPERS groveling for God’s approval to love and use us. That also brings me to tears!

Essential Affirmations:

I AM DIVINELY APPOINTED IN CHRIST.

I AM DIVINELY AUTHORIZED IN CHRIST.

I AM DIVINELY EMPOWERED IN CHRIST.

I AM DIVINELY ACCOMPANIED IN CHRIST.

We can actually be glad when we are weak, because then we must rely on Him; and we experience the thrill of supernatural power of His strength in us.

As too many of us were falsely and harmfully belittled and condemned “in the name of God,” we ended up hanging our head bearing shame and guilt for far too long. We were taught and thus felt we were not good enough to be approved by God, much less effectively serve him. We were robbed of our confidence in Christ in GCx Churches.

We must reclaim our true elevated stature and power in the Son of God. We must embrace again our dearly beloved place as God’s children. Here are some truths to treasure in our hearts.

Essential Affirmations

ALL OF US WHO ARE GOD’s CHILDREN HAVE BEEN BROUGHT NEAR BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.

THE LIFE OF INTIMACY WITH GOD HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR EVERY BELIEVER THROUGH FREE ENTRANCE BY JESUS’ BLOOD INTO THE SANCTUARY.

I CAN BE ASSURED THAT THE BLOOD IS ABLE TO PRESERVE ME EVERY DAY IN GOD’s PRESENCE BY IT’s DIVINE LIFE GIVING POWER.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST CLEANSES MY CONSCIENCE TO SERVE THE LIVING GOD.

The BLOOD PLEADS FOR ME AND IN ME WITH AN ETERNAL CEASELESS EFFECT.

Not because we serve enough, pray enough, witness enough, love enough, or read the Bible enough may we approach God Almighty, but because we are cleansed by Jesus’ blood —which is ALWAYS ENOUGH!

BUILDING UP YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST

The truth above is from Ephesians 3:12. There are so many mind-blowing truths about who are in Christ in the book of Ephesians. It’s a big deal that we are supernaturally in Christ! I’m certain Satan wants us to forget about these or be mislead about them or miss them altogether. They are dynamite for the Christian when they are known, believed and acted on by faith. Ephesians is a treasure chest of these precious truths describing not only who we are, but what we have in Christ.

The first chapter of Ephesians reveals the holy power God so graciously chose to impart through Christ to forgiven sinners like us, so that His Glory might be revealed both to us and to the world.

We have grace and peace in Christ.
We have access to EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ.
We have holiness and blamelessness in Christ.
We have adoption as children of God in Christ which PLEASED Him.

I think of couples who were so very excited when they finally adopted their long awaited child, or devastated when their adoption fell through. If earthly parents can be so moved to embrace them into their family, how much more is God who has immeasurable LOVE thrilled to adopt us!

But just to assure us that we will never be rejected, he has sealed us in His Holy Spirit. How almost unbelievable!

We have the Holy Spirit who is God’s pledge of our eternal inheritance in Christ.

Christ in us is our sufficiency. He is the preeminent teacher. He is the fulfiller of longings we can’t even identify. He is our deliverer when all else is impossible. He is the only hope of real glory in our lives.

Don’t let any intrusive person or leader or “church” system be a replacement for Him. He is the power to live in every spiritual blessing.

Though this essential truth (from Psalm 139:17) has been shared before, it blesses us greatly to remember it continually.

Imagine for a moment that you must witness to someone; or pray every morning for a week; or serve the “elders” before you could earn an interested audience with God. That is what it was like being under some GCx teachings. The illusiveness of doing enough to earn credibility “in God’s sight” was so disheartening. The repeated sense of failure discouraging. But, God’s Word actually reveals the truth about entering The Holiest -His Presence.

“Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

And where these have been forgiven, an offering for sin is no longer needed.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place
by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way opened for us
through the curtain of His body, and since we have a great priest over the
house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith…

Hebrews 10:17-22

This from Andrew Murray in “Boldness Through The Blood” explains our confidence well:

Christ has in very deed opened the Holiest of All for us to enter in and to dwell there. The Father would have His children with Him in His holy home of love and fellowship, abiding continually all the time. The Epistle seeks to gather all in. Having boldness to enter, let us draw near!

It may be that some, as in the study of the Epistle the wondrous mystery of the way into the Holiest now opened was revealed to them, have entered in; they have said in faith, Lord my God, I come. Henceforth I would live in Thy secret place, in the Holiest of All. And yet they fear. They are not sure whether the great High Priest has indeed taken them in. They know not for certain whether they will be faithful, always abiding within the veil. They have not yet grasped what it means—having boldness to enter in.

And there may be others, who have with longing, wistful hearts heard the call to enter in, and yet have not the courage to do so. The thought that a sinful worm can every day and all the day dwell in the Holiest of All is altogether too high. The consciousness of feebleness and failure is so strong, the sense of personal unfaithfulness so keen, the experience of the power of the world and circumstances, of the weakness of the flesh and its efforts, so fresh, that for them there is no hope of such a life. Others may rejoice in it, they must even be content without it. And yet the heart is not content.

To both such, those who have entered but still are full of fears, and those who in fear do not enter, the Holy Spirit speaks—To-day, if you shall hear His voice, harden not your hearts. Having boldness in the blood of Jesus to enter into the Holiest, let us draw nigh. The boldness with which we are to enter is not, first of all, a conscious feeling of confidence; it is the objective God-given right and liberty of entrance of which the blood assures us. The measure of our boldness is the worth God attaches to the blood of Jesus. As our heart reposes its confidence on that in simple faith, the feeling of confidence and joy on our part will come too, and our entrance will be amid songs of praise and gladness.

Realizing Distorted Images of God
Have Brought Much Harm to Our Faith

As a former member mentioned recently, the distorted image of God presented in many GCx teachings and practices caused him painful suffering and loss in his relationship with God. This was true for so many of us oppressed by the twisting of scripture there. The Bible addresses, this distorting of God’s image in Paul’s writings about leaders, teaching a different Jesus. Specifically a Jesus, without grace. He is addressing believers here he already led to the Lord, but have been zealously won over by those who call themselves “Super-Apostles,” intentionally isolating them from Paul. Sound familiar?

“I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. For I promised you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. I am afraid, however, that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may be led astray from your simple and pure devotion to Christ.

For if someone comes and proclaims a Jesus other than the One we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the One you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it way too easily.

I consider myself in no way inferior to those “super-apostles.” Although I am not a polished speaker, I am certainly not lacking in knowledge. We have made this clear to you in every way possible.”

2 Corinthians 11:2-6

Notice the themes common to GCx. The young believers now have a new master who carries the same authority as Jesus. Sadly, this produces adultery to our divine husband. Pleasing him alone is no longer acceptable or enough in GCx. They must now please these new masters. The simple gospel of grace and truth through Jesus is no longer enough.

They must follow the traditions of men in order to be acceptable. Incidentally, the traditions mentioned here by Paul include circumcision (to cut one off from the world) to have God’s favor. The tradition of GCx involves a similar mutilation, although psychological, in that one must cut off and isolate himself from influences outside of GCx and its leadership to keep pure, and find favor with God. This sadly included sound Christian influences of godly pastors, family, and friends. The false teachers in Paul’s day did the same, in slandering Paul, so that their followers would be cut off from his sound influence. Again notice the spiritual abusers accused him of lacking in biblical knowledge and inferior as a Christian leader. They claimed they had more knowledge in the ways of following God. WOA!! That is exactly the premise on which McCotter built his empire of churches: slandering the rest of Christianity and falsely claiming superior revelation. And may I suggest too many remaining GCx formed churches are also implying this and looking down on those who leave - even still slandering them.

Are you sensing the insidious patterns here?

False teaching is certainly not a new concept that believers be derailed from simply and personally, submitting to One Master. False teaching creates a harmfully distorted image of Jesus which often psychologically separates the believer from their Lord. They instead begin to trust, fear and follow a man (or men).

GCx is Not The TRUTH, The WAY, The LIFE - Jesus IS

“GCx” nor its leaders are the The Truth , The Way, The Life —Jesus alone is. Don’t let them be a false and oppressive substitute for His overflowing life in yours. Tragically and pervertedly GCx has and many of its leaders still do audaciously claim They Are. This encouraging song reminds me that Jesus alone is my guide to anchoring truth, his adventurous way and abundant life; and obviously in eternity to heaven.

There is freedom
A confidence in walking with Jesus
I’m 10 feet tall when I’m standing with you

Full Heart
Sound Mind
The Darkness is running in Your Light
My Peace is Found when I’m Lost in You

YOU are
The TRUTH
The WAY
The LIFE …
