Was this presented during the Friday evening service? I’m confused as to why some ECC attendees would know and others would not. Also confused as to why the women are not in this loop.

Sorry Linda but somehow I believe if ECC had issued a denial statement some here would have been asking why they did that before the investigation was done.

Regarding the questions about others victims and acknowledging that in early January.  I am quite certain that NO ONE knew they existed.  All of these woman had kept this close to them.  Further, this is one of my biggest problems with the issue.  When "the matter" happened 20 years ago it appears no one asked or wanted to ask this big question... "what if this happened to others besides Suzanne".  Their original handling of SvD and failing to ask this logical question are my biggest problem.

Ha!  Be careful about your assumptions.  I dare not say more.

Phoenix based on your earlier posts (see bold italics) which seems to imply some insider foreknowledge and the fact The Rock canceled, this would seem to imply that MD has major issues but the other pastors are free from the coverup charge. Does that align with what you heard in the summary?

Of course you are confused. You will see that the forum is not the place to get your "facts".  If you aren't an ECC member or an accuser why would you need to know any of this at all? Let the decades of gossip begin!! Have fun dissecting it all and casting your bitter judgement. I'm sure something wasn't done your way. Let's get this party started! Let the slander begin!

As of the time I posted, not all the victims did, either. No idea if they know now.

As you can read, my comment was about the process.

Specifically, that it was not independent.

ECC paid for the investigation.

Because of this, ECC owns and controls the data collected.

Therefore, it is not independent. It is ECC controlled.

That was my point.

The investigation by Joan Harris and the BoT's response are two different things.

You are rather questioning the handling with the results.  This distinction is important.

Linda's statements and questions *are* telling-- that she has high standards for the truth in church and that experience has shown her not to expect it from ECC.  

Linda has had contact with some of the victims in the past, so it's possible she does know if ECC has contacted them or not.

"Nothing will satisfy you."  Well, nothing is exactly what has been offered on this forum so far in regards to what happened tonight.  So, as someone who has put herself out there to be criticized and targeted for supporting victims, I'm guessing that this nothing is not, in fact, very satisfying.
